ii. Currently, MetaleApp will not proactively share or transfer your personal information to third parties outside of Metale. If there are other situations where your personal information needs to be shared or transferred to third parties outside of Metale, we will directly obtain or confirm your explicit consent for such actions. I. How We Collect and Use Personal Information

1.2 In the process of using Metale services, we will collect information that you actively provide or that is generated as a result of using the services in the following ways, in order to provide services, optimize our services, and ensure the security of your account:

1.2.1 When you log in to MetaleApp using an email/phone account, we will collect your email address/phone number. If you successfully log in to MetaleApp and edit your avatar, nickname, gender, region, self-introduction, and signature, we will also collect this information. The collection of this information is intended to help you complete the basic information for new users, showcase it in your interactions with other users, and enhance the security of your account. Gender information is also used to provide personalized recommendation services. If you do not provide the aforementioned information, you may not be able to use all or part of our services normally.

1.2.2 When you use Metale services, to ensure your normal use of our services, maintain the normal operation of our services, and ensure the security of your account, we will collect log information such as your operating system, unique device identifier (AndroidID), MetaleApp version number, device boot time, system version, device model, physical memory, hard disk, system update time, carrier, time zone, country, language, advertising identifier, network access method, type and status, operation logs, service logs (information and service failure information you search for or view in this software, referral URLs, etc.), installed application list, device SN (hardware serial number), and other log information. This type of information is essential for providing you with services.

1.2.3 When you use MetaleApp to search or browse Metale content, we will collect your search history, reading-related records (reading history, likes, subscription history), access time, and interaction records. The purpose is to provide you with more accurate and personalized services and content.

1.2.4 When you use the bookshelf or booklist feature on MetaleApp, the information about the books you add to the bookshelf or booklist will be stored on our server because storage is necessary to implement this function.

1.2.5 When you use the note feature on MetaleApp, your note-related operations (highlighting, thoughts, bookmarks, reviews) will be stored on our server because storage is necessary to implement this function.

1.2.6 When you follow other users or are followed by other users on MetaleApp, information about users who follow you and whom you follow will be stored on our server because storage is necessary to implement this function.

1.2.7 When you use the blacklist feature on MetaleApp, information about users added to the blacklist will be stored on our server because storage is necessary to implement this function.

1.2.8 When you use the private messaging feature on MetaleApp, information about messages you send and receive will be stored on our server because storage is necessary to implement this function.

1.2.9 When you use related paid services on MetaleApp, we will collect your order information (including recipient name, address, contact phone number filled in the order for purchasing physical books), as this is essential information needed to provide you with services.

1.2.10 When you set your avatar by taking a photo and when logging into the web version, we will request permission to use your camera, which is necessary to implement these functions. Not granting permission will prevent you from using these features, but it will not affect your use of other functions.

1.2.11 When you use photos from your gallery as your avatar in MetaleApp or send photos to other users through private messages, we will request permission to access your photo gallery to select and use photos. This is necessary to implement these functions. Not granting permission will prevent you from using these features, but it will not affect your use of other functions.

1.3 In the following circumstances, we may collect and use your personal information without seeking your consent, in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and national standards:

1.3.1 Directly related to national interests such as national security and national defense, and/or directly related to significant public interests such as public safety, public health, and public awareness;

1.3.2 Directly related to criminal investigation, prosecution, trial, and execution of judgments;

1.3.3 For the purpose of safeguarding significant legitimate rights and interests such as life, property, and reputation of yourself or others, but it is difficult to obtain your consent;

1.3.4 The collected personal information is voluntarily made public by you to the public;

1.3.5 Collected from legally disclosed information, such as legally reported news, government information disclosure, and other channels;

1.3.9 Necessary for statistical or academic research for the public interest, and when providing the results of academic research or descriptions to the public, the personal information contained in the results will be de-identified;

1.4 You understand and agree that the functions and services we provide to you are constantly updated and developed. If a certain function or service, not mentioned in the above explanation, collects your information, we will inform you separately of the content, scope, and purpose of information collection through page prompts, interactive processes, website announcements, etc., to obtain your consent.

1.5 You understand and agree that when we intend to use your information for other purposes not specified in this policy, we will seek your consent in advance. When we intend to use your information collected for specific purposes for other purposes, we will seek your consent in advance.

II. Cookies Usage

3.3 As our business continues to grow, we may engage in mergers, acquisitions, asset transfers, and other transactions. We will inform you of relevant situations and continue to protect your personal information in accordance with legal regulations and standards not lower than those required by this privacy protection guideline, or we will request the new controller to continue protecting your personal information.

3.4 We or our affiliated companies may also retain, store, or disclose your personal information for the following purposes:

5.3 Delete Your Personal Information

5.5 Change your authorization consent

You can revoke your authorization consent for the processing of relevant personal information through the following steps:

5.5.2 In MetaleApp, set "Private Reading":

(1) After entering MetaleApp, tap "Bookshelf" at the bottom;

(2) Tap "Bookshelf" at the upper left corner;

(3) Select "Select" and choose the books you intend to set for private reading;

(5) Tap "Private Reading";

(6) Tap "Enable."

5.5.3 Set "Automatically Enable Private Reading After Adding to Bookshelf":

After enabling "Private Reading," your reading records will no longer be public.

5.5.4 Set "Require Your Consent to Follow You":

After enabling "Require Your Consent to Follow You," other users can only follow you after obtaining your consent, and only followers can view your bookshelf and reading activities.

5.5.6 Set "Do Not Receive Messages from Unfollowed Users":

Please note that withdrawing your consent will not affect the processing of personal information that occurred before the withdrawal.

5.6.1 You can apply to permanently delete your Metale account by following these steps:

(1) Open the MetaleApp and click on "Me."

(2) Click on the settings icon in the upper right corner.

(3) Select "Privacy."

(4) Choose "Account."

(5) Click on "Delete Account."

(6) After carefully reading and fully agreeing to the information on the prompted page, if you still decide to delete your account, click "I am aware of the above information, continue to apply for account deletion."

(7) After carefully reading and agreeing to the "Account Deletion Notice," click "Apply for Account Deletion."

5.6.2 Once your Metale account is deleted, all your personal data and information on Metale will be permanently removed.

5.7 Personalized Recommendations

Automated decision-making refers to the activity of analyzing and evaluating an individual's behavioral habits and interests through computer programs to make decisions automatically. We will use automated decision-making based on the gender information in section 1.2.1 and the information in section 1.2.3, including search records, reading-related records (reading records, likes, subscription records), visit times, and interaction records. This analysis aims to understand your preferences and habits, providing personalized content recommendations that align with your interests. For example, recommending books and booklists that are more relevant to you to enhance your user experience.

It's important to note that while personalized recommendations aim to deliver content of interest more quickly, they may result in an increasingly homogeneous content experience. You also have the option to disable personalized recommendations. To do so, enter MetaleApp, click on "Me" – the gear icon for settings – "Privacy," and then turn off personalized recommendations.

After disabling personalized recommendations, we will no longer provide recommendations based on your personalized information. You may still receive other recommendations or content, but these recommendations will not be related to your personal characteristics.

If you have any opinions on the results of personalized recommendations or the function of disabling personalized recommendations, you can submit your feedback through the "Me" section. We will promptly address your feedback and provide a response.

5.8 Personalized Advertising

We may use information collected through certain features for our other services. For example, we may use the information collected when you use a specific feature or service to provide specific content to you or your friends in another feature or service, including but not limited to displaying advertisements (you can manage personalized ads provided by Metale through "Me—Settings—Privacy—Personalized Ad Management").

5.9 Deceased Account Instructions

According to relevant laws and regulations, the close relatives of a user may exercise the rights prescribed by law after the user's death. In MetaleApp, if a user unfortunately passes away, their close relatives can follow the legal guidelines. They can enter MetaleApp, click on "Me"—the settings icon— "Help & Feedback"—"Deceased Account Instructions" to view relevant instructions and initiate the process.

5.10 For your reasonable requests, we generally do not charge fees. However, for requests that are frequent, repetitive, or exceed reasonable limits, we reserve the right to charge a certain cost.

5.11 We will be unable to respond to your requests in the following situations:

5.11.1 Related to our fulfillment of obligations prescribed by laws and regulations;

5.11.2 Directly related to national security and defense;

5.11.3 Directly related to public safety, public health, and significant public interests;

5.11.4 Directly related to criminal investigation, prosecution, trial, and execution of judgments;

5.11.5 Other situations where, according to laws and administrative regulations, we are unable to respond to your requests.

Please note that there may be certain differences in operation settings between different operating systems and different versions of MetaleApp. Additionally, to optimize your user experience, we may make adjustments to operation settings. Therefore, the above guidelines are for reference only.

VI. How We Process Personal Information of Minors

6.1 Metale App and services are mainly intended for adults. Minors should not create their own user accounts and/or use our products, websites and services without the consent of a parent or guardian.

6.2 For situations where we collect personal information from minors with the consent of parents or guardians, we will only process this information when permitted by law, with explicit consent from parents or guardians, or when necessary to protect the minor .

6.3 The "Children's Privacy Protection Statement" is the information protection rules applicable to child users under the age of 14. Within the scope of application of the "Children's Privacy Protection Statement" , if there is any inconsistency or contradiction between it and this policy, the "Children's Privacy Protection Statement" shall prevail.

VII. Storage Location and Duration of Personal Information

7.1 The personal information we collect and generate will be stored on the blockchain .

7.2 We will only retain your personal information for the minimum period necessary to achieve the purposes stated in this policy or the period specified by laws and administrative regulations, such as:

7.2.1 Account: If you log in to the Metale service through an account, we need to save your account to ensure your normal use of the service.

7.2.2 Publish content: When you use the note function (including underlining, ideas, bookmarks, and comments), we need to save the aforementioned information to ensure your normal browsing. When you delete the relevant note, we will delete the corresponding message.

7.3 When the storage period of personal information expires, or our products or services cease operations, we will notify you in the form of push notifications, announcements, etc., and delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period. . "Anonymization processing" refers to the process of technical processing of personal information so that the subject of personal information cannot be identified and the processed information cannot be restored.
